Feature & Follow #4

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

Every week we'll discuss a new topic. This week's topic?

Armchair Travel! Tell us about your favorite book in a setting you’d like to visit (a real place for this question).

Oh, man. This one was difficult. But only because I had a hard time deciding between Regency-era England with the Bennets (Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", if you didn't know) and Green Gables with Anne, Marilla, and Matthew (L.M. Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables").

After weighing it, though, I think I'd want to live with the Cuthburts. Marilla and Matthew seem to have a much more loving home than that of the Bennets. They also emphasize education over marriage. And while I was married at 20, I'd still like to know that it was MY choice and not a matter of my parents wanting to marry me off to secure their future.

Why else would I want to live at Green Gables? Uh, three words: Prince. Edward. Island.
Located on an island, east of Canada's mainland, the island is beautifully surrounded by ocean. There are gorgeous beaches, comfortable weather conditions (I hate heat!) and--in the time of Anne--a small-town atmosphere in pretty much any P.E.I. town you lived in.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. OMG I totally forgot about Prince Edward Island! Great choice! I love Anne of Green Gables and the setting is so beautiful. I would also love to see Regency-era England. I would avoid Mrs. Bennet and just hang out with Jane and Elizabeth.lol
